City of Monterey Park Health Fair
November 01, 2015
On 11/01/15, the Smarteater team was invited to attend a health fair hosted by the City of Monterey Park. While at the health fair, participants were given free screenings for blood glucose, cholesterol, and blood pressure. Therefore, our goals were to provide nutritional education and tips about a healthy lifestyle to the community. We presented a fat display to show the community how much fat was in certain daily foods such as pancakes, milk, yogurt, pizza, etc. We also educated participants about how to prevent obesity and other chronic diseases. We successfully interacted with intrigued participants where they learned to interpret their screenings and became more aware in how a healthy diet can benefit their overall wellbeing.

By presenting a fat display we were able to show how much fat was in certain daily foods such as pancakes, milk, yogurt, pizza, etc. Many employees were intrigued with our display and were openly surprised in the amount of fat in some of the foods they consume on a daily basis. We successfully interacted with many people in bringing awareness about daily fat intake for a healthy lifestyle.
